The Haves and The Have Nots
Usually when you hear this expression, you would prefer to be one of the haves. In the pandemic it seems to be better to be one of the have nots. When you boil everything down to having something or not having something, it really blurs the lines and makes everything a binary viewpoint. There is another way.
When Jesus spoke of worry, His focus was on the One who knows your needs. He spoke of priority and purpose amidst the time of need. Because God is eternal, we can trust Him with our full plate each day. I’ve heard that worrying is like a rocking chair. There is a lot of activity, but you end up not going anywhere. During these times you can be a have and have not. You have One who knows, and cares about you daily and you have not been forsaken.
