Preparing for International Travel

Special Statement for Israel: For all plans purchased with Israel as the destination country, losses due to, arising from, or resulting from the conflict in Israel are not covered. The Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit is not currently available for any plan with Israel as a destination.
These plans cover claims for unforeseen illness or injury unrelated to the hostilities, but as always, all claims are subject to all terms and conditions of the policy wording.

Entry Requirements for countries: Countries may issue requirements for travelers to obtain medical coverage to enter their country. You may check requirements here at the: US Travel Bureau

Medicare: Benefits are not typically provided outside the U.S. Although some Medicare Advantage plans and Medigap plans might offer some international medical benefits.

Coverage is available for domestic & international travel whether it’s a vacation, cruise, business trip, educational exchange, mission, or other. Purchase trip cancellation coverage for any trip.

There are three plan options that will provide varying levels of medical coverage and all include benefits for cancellation and travel delay. They can help cover the cost of your non-refundable expenses if your trip is cancelled and those reasons fall within the carrier’s “Covered Peril Reasons”.

Reasons for cancellation and interruption can include:

  • Sickness, injury, or death of you or an immediate family member

  • Medical advisory to cancel trip

  • Default of the travel provider

  • Natural disaster

  • Terrorist incident

  • See individual plan brochure for a full list of triggers

A Pre-Existing Medical Condition exclusion waiver is available on the iTravelInsured SE and iTravelInsured LX Plans. Pre-Existing Medical Condition exclusions will be waived if coverage is purchased within the Time Sensitive Period, within 20 days of any down payment for any trip related costs.

Cancel For Any Reason: This option allows you to cancel your coverage for any reason if cancelled no later than two days before your scheduled departure date. (Excluding Israel)

If you desire to add the Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit, here are a few things to be aware of:

  • This benefit is an additional premium.
  • This purchase option is only available if purchased within 20 days of any down payment for any trip related costs.
  • This benefit is only available on the iTravel LX plan. – (See brochure below)
